CINELIFE FILM FORUM

[Producer´s management advices for talented film authors]

(1) Eiji Okada and Emmanuele Riva, the man and woman are completely natural and convicting as a pair falling immediately and perfectly in love, next morning, however, she tells him of taboo on their affair. And actress scheduled to leave Hiroshima in two days...

Hiroshima, Mon Amour, FRANCE 1959

(2) La Dolce Vita, The Sweet Life - the eloquence and breadth of vision it evokes from  what ethically is a trivial, satiredisgusting occupation:  the society-adulation and scandal-mongering of journalism. One key to Fellini´s depth and relevance here is surely the fact the film grew from his impulse an autobiography, one, in all probability, with fictional elements, but one that he ment to be a sort of public confession and moral critique. Fellini´s position as both film artist and social critic in no weak-sister combination. The Sweet Life is Neo-Realistic satire - full of the irony attached human animality and the material is magic and under artistic control.
